Samsung Touch Of Color T220HD 22 inch LCD HDTV Monitor

Imagine staring at the Samsung Touch of Color Series T220HD 22″ widescreen HDTV monitor. A luxurious glass-like frame with gracefully sculpted edges is fused to a rose-black bezel, giving a soft hint of rich red. The result is an elegant HDTV monitor that feels more like handcrafted artwork than a high-performance video display. The T220HD features a built-in digital HDTV tuner capable of HD 1080p, a USB hub and 2 HDMI connections. The Samsung T220HD 22″ widescreen HDTV monitor. On or off, it’s a thing of beauty. While the crystal-like bezel frame catches light beautifully, it actually reduces reflection of light off the bezel. And since the rich red color is injection molded for a blown glass effect, instead of spray painted, there is less environmental impact. It’s easy on your eyes as well as on the environment.
User Ratings and Reviews
3 Stars A good hybrid TV computer monitor… but watch out for HDMI connection!
I won’t rehash what the monitor is good for. It has all been discussed here. What has NOT been said – and I can’t find anybody who’s said it at any review site on the web is the reason that I will be returning this monitor:
If you use HDMI input, you are prevented from using any of the color, tint and sharpness controls. If input is anything else (DVI, VGA, TV, etc) you have full control of the picture adjustments. My computer has only HDMI output, and I purchased this monitor specifically to use it as a computer monitor most of the time, and to be hooked up with HDMI. Without being able to adjust the picture, it is useless to me when I edit/print photos. What I see on the screen is nothing like what comes out. I’ve never had a monitor that could not be calibrated. And if you hook this one up through HDMI, you cannot calibrate it. Each input has its own settings, so you can set all the others to make this a great performer, but you have no control (beyond brightness and contrast) when hooked up through HDMI. If HDMI worked properly, I’d give four stars. -1 for no height adjustment, and hidden controls on the screen’s frame. But when the surprise of having no picture controls through HDMI hit me, another star was taken off immediately!
Yes, I can get a DVI-HDMI converter cable. And I can add an audio cable. But my goal was to minimize connections since my computer is a portable that I will use on my desk when home, and as a portable when I head out. I want as few connections as possible. I haven’t returned the monitor yet, but I’m really close…
5 Stars Cool Kitchen Set
Nice set, well made and easy to setup. The only thing I do not like about this purchase is that the wall mount was not included. Not everyone is going to put this set on a table. Other than this, nice colors and above all no glare as mine is facing right on a sliding door and it gets the sun light directly on the set. I do not loose anything.
I might pick up another one if I get some money in my pocket
4 Stars I give this a 9 out of 10
I really love what i got for the amount spent!
Its great for my bedroom. I use it as a tv as well as a monitor for my Dell XPS 430. I have a built in turner in my pc and the T220HD picks up more channels than my pc turner.
The picutre is clear and beats our 52 Sony Plasma TV.
There could be a few more connections!!!!
Wall mount is offered but could be better see samsung direct website.
The button for power on the TV/Monitor isnt the best.
Wish it came in more colors than rose/black.
But again this is a kick butt purchase.
Patt your self on the back after you buy.
4 Stars Good quality, good price
I purchased this from Amazon in Nov 2009. It’s a beautiful TV and picture is very good. The sound, as many of the reviews have already stated, is not that good. But we use the TV in the kitchen so it is not our main source of TV viewing. The price is very reasonable, and the delivery was super fast.
I could not hook up our old VCR to this TV, the Tech Support person told me to connect the yellow VCR cable into the component cable slot that shows a “Y” but that did not work. But oh well, maybe I need to get with the program and upgrade to all DVD. Note that our Panasonic Viera Plasma TV was able to receive the older VCR RCA cables. All in all though this Samsung TV is a good buy.
4 Stars Great TV, but comes with little glitches
This is a great TV, and the price is perfect. I bought mine for about $249 in August; so far the experience has been a good one. TV looks great, picture & sound qualities are impressive as well. Only thing that I don’t like about this TV monitor is that it is literally impossible to connect a regular DVD player or laptop to it. I tried connecting a Sony DVD player and was unsuccessful; then I tried connecting the DVD player via using the component video cable, but no dice.
So, if you are looking for a good TV with a great price this TV is for you. I’ve heard that blue-ray DVD players work just fine w/ this TV. Overall, great TV.
